PETITION: Increase police presence

Together, we’ve made progress on crime, but there is more to do. Our area now has the second-highest crime rate in the borough and the Chingford Mount Centre in particular is a hotspot for reported ASB and reported offences.

Visible policing has not kept pace with rising crime and anti-social behaviour. Residents, shopkeepers and visitors deserve to feel safe. We call on the Borough Commander to:

  • Increase the number of officers allocated to our town centre

  • Provide regular foot patrols

  • Publish a clear plan to reduce crime locally

Sign this petition to demand action now. As your local Labour party, we have already installed 1000+ new CCTV cameras across the borough, improved lighting on key routes to make walking at night safer, and pioneered Stand By Her, a unique scheme promoting ways for men to be allies to women and girls. Now we’re asking the Borough Commander to take action too.

Help us protect the Paradox Centre

The Paradox Community Centre in Chingford Hall, E4, is where our neighbourhood of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures comes together — from youth clubs and social groups to community events that make our area stronger and more connected.

Built and protected for community use, it’s a spaces where everyone is truly welcome. But without official recognition, its future could be at risk.

By securing “Asset of Community Value” status, we can help safeguard this much-loved centre, so it continues to serve our community for generations to come.

Sign our petition to show we must keep the Paradox Community Centre at the heart of Chingford Hall life.
