Yusuf was born at Whipps Cross Hospital and raised in Walthamstow. He now lives in the Chingford and Woodford Green constituency with his young family, and knows firsthand the unique character of Upper Walthamstow, which spans two constituencies. Since being elected in 2022, Yusuf has worked to make the ward fairer, safer, and more caring for all residents. Awarded an MBE for his services to community cohesion and his stand against hate and discrimination, he lives by the Borough’s motto, “Fellowship is Life,” every day.
