Clyde Loakes

Labour Councillor for Leytonstone and Deputy Leader of the Council with responsibility for Climate and Air Quality

Clyde has lived and breathed Leytonstone for over 30 years. Married in St Johns Church, his daughter attended Davies Lane Primary and Leytonstone Secondary schools.

A councillor for Leytonstone since 1998, over the years Clyde has helped secure huge investments into the economic, climate, social and community infrastructure of Leytonstone and has consistently championed opportunities for the young people of Leytonstone.

Ever present on the doorstep, in the local pubs, cafes,  shops and online, Clyde has consistently been in the top 2 Cllrs for casework in Waltham Forest and was awarded an MBE 'for services to local government' in July '24.

In his spare time Clyde likes to blast out his vinyl!
